A small crew in Tauranga who build websites for NZ businesses.
Kitset is our own tool. We built it because putting a good website together for a plumber or a café took far longer than it should have, and cost the client more than it needed to. Now it does not.
Our own people build them
Not a marketplace and not contractors bidding for your job. The person who builds your site works here.
You can change it yourself
Your hours, your prices, your photos. Click the words on your page and type. No ticket, no waiting on us.
We are still here afterwards
Message us from your dashboard and it reaches the same people. Your website is not something we hand over and forget.
Every website, straight from the box.
Nearly eighty build kits, one for most trades. Nine are here; the rest, and a quick quiz to find yours, are in the box. Everything's ready to assemble, and you can visit every one of them before you pick.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
Every kit ships complete: hosting, Google setup, visitor stats and a dashboard simple enough to update the menu from your phone.
Fast hosting included
Hosting is part of every plan. Your site loads quick, stays up, and we keep it patched.
Bring your own domain
Connect a domain you own. It stays in your name and goes where you go.
Found on Google
Maps, opening hours and search setup done properly from day one.
A real person on email
No chatbots, no ticket queues. The reply comes from someone with a name.
Three ways to get sorted.
All three run on the same kit. The difference is what's in the box, and who does the assembling.

Built for you
Your own developer plans, builds and looks after the whole thing.
$699 is the baseline quote for a standard kit build. From $819 in your first year, then $120. A local agency usually starts at $1,000, plus $30 to $60 a month to look after it. Already started one yourself? We'll finish it properly from $249.
- Everything in Do it yourself
- We design and build your site for you
- Send change requests, a real person does them
- Photos, copy and Google setup included
- Direct line to your developer
Prices in NZD. Kitset is not registered for GST, so the price you see is the whole amount. Build quotes start at $699 for a standard kit; anything beyond that is quoted before we start. Hosting a site like this costs very little, and the price reflects what it costs us to run. Domain not included, you bring your own. Extra web addresses beyond the ones your plan includes are $2 a month each. No lock-in contracts; cancel any time and take your site with you.
Same job. Four prices.
Webador, Wix, Squarespace and us, from their own NZ pricing pages this week. We publish it because we're happy for you to check it.
Their price needs a year paid up front. Pay month by month and every one of them costs more: Squarespace Basic is $26. Ours is $10, paid monthly, and you can stop any time.
The first-year deal doubles. Webador is half price for 12 months, then the full rate. Its $10 Lite plan is the one it describes as "for personal projects"; Pro, for a business, is $20.
The trial ends. Ours doesn't. Squarespace gives you 14 days. With us it's free the whole time you're building, however long that takes.
"Free domain for a year", then $35 a year at Webador. We don't sell domains. Buy yours anywhere for about $30 a year, and connecting it is included.
| Provider | A month, for a business | Built for you |
|---|---|---|
| Kitset | $10, paid monthly | from $699 one-off |
| Squarespace | $19 (Basic, year up front) | not offered |
| Webador | $20 (Pro, year up front) | not offered |
| Wix | about $28 (Light, year up front)* | not offered |
| Rocketspark | from $49 | via partner designers, typically $1,000+ |
| Typical NZ web agency | $30 to $60 care plan | $1,000+ |
Prices in NZD from each company's own New Zealand pricing page on 24 September 2026, at the yearly-upfront rate they advertise. *Wix shows US dollars; the NZ figure is a conversion. Webador's $10 Lite plan is left out because Webador describes it as "for personal projects". To be fair to them: the big builders have thousands of templates and large app stores. We have 79 kits drawn up for NZ trades, everything a small business actually needs, and a real person in Tauranga who answers.
Straight answers.
Do I own my website?
Yes. The words, the photos and the design are yours, and your web address stays in your name. If you ever leave, we give you the files.
What if I want to leave?
Cancel from your dashboard. No phone call, no notice period, no contract. Your site stays online until the end of the month you've paid for.
Do I need to be good with computers?
If you can write a text, you can do this. You click on the words on your page and type. And if you get stuck, you email and a real person in Tauranga answers.
What does the $10 cover?
Hosting, keeping it online and backed up, your own web address connected, a contact form, the editor and your visitor numbers. No GST on top. Pro is $20 if you want a blog, a shop or more sites.
Can you just build it for me?
Yes. A developer builds it from $699, with your photos, your words and Google set up. Right now five businesses get it free through Free Build, until 11 October.
I already have a website. Can I move it?
Yes. We move your pages and photos across, keep your web address and your email working, and send every old link to the right new page.
Already have a website? Send us the link.
We'll look it over and tell you plainly what's working, what isn't, and what to fix first. No charge, no pitch. You'll hear back from a real person.
